Ivar throws down the white flag to end the armistice and suggests the war continues. Alfred explains that his people fight for God’s love and their land and suggests that he leaves. Ivar mocks his rejection statement and tells Alfred he is outnumbered. After Alfred looks at his Queen Elsworth, he rejects Ivar’s offer and claims that he “fears to lose” - he doesn’t believe Ivar wants true peace and feels his Gods have misled him. Ivar suggests negotiating peace for Alfred’s sake.
Alfred notes how they are still fighting like their fathers did and desires an end to this endless war cycle. King Alfred and Ivar the Boneless stand in the middle of the Saxons and they greet each other - they’ve agreed on an armistice while they negotiate peace. It’s a reunion that gives clarity to Ubbe and Torvi. He’s seemingly spiritual and neutral - there’s no hint of hatred in him. He tells them he left Iceland because the sadness became too much as it imprisoned him, and felt deserted by the Gods. Floki tells them that the locals have taken care of him, and when he arrived on the new land, they healed him. OMG at the credits, they whizzed by so fast that you couldn't hardly read one word! Slow it down, please! Todays epidode 8.The final ever episode of Vikings opens up with Ubbe and Floki embracing each other - a significant moment, a finale-esque moment. They are obviously showing the UK exports as they had the character names on and some faces I didn't recognise, weird. at Annie getting attacked, what were they doing? Did they try to steal the car or rob her or assult/attack her? I'll go for robbing her. I bet he is going to brag about it when he went online at the end lol. Is Ricardos girlfriend really pregnant? She didn't seem to be telling the truth when she said she wasn't and was asking Ricardo "what would you do if I was?" type questions which made me VERY suspicious, hmmm It was funnier aswell today, with that new doctor telling Casey off every five mins and him not giving up on her and buying her her favourite tea (that was tea, wasn't it?). for Meg being re-jected from her internet lover and (obviously) getting re-jected again for finding the wrong guy (Casey) who she thinks is him. I liked todays episode, of what I can remember of now. About 2 months after that, it gets extended slightly again (up to about a minute), and then from 1998 it turns into the really long sequence that Sunset Beach credits became famous for (on a couple of occasions, the credits are so long that they ran out of theme tune, and they just carried on in silence!). After about 4 months worth of episodes, it doubles in length.
The original buildup sequence consists of 3 or 4 shots shown over 20 seconds or so. The 'buildup' type credits come into use from tomorrow (with a few exceptions where they aren't used) but it's nowhere near as drawn out as it would be later on. Of course all this is assuming that SB's export edits haven't changed, but going by today's presentation what C5 showed today was exactly the same thing that ITV2 showed more than 4 years ago. This has the side effect of Gabi appearing in the titles from tomorrow even though she won't be in Sunset Beach for about 2/3 months. In the original airing, the short nameless titles used today carried on being used for a fair old while, but in the export edits the MKII titles are used from episode 2. They will scroll at an unbelievably fast speed, but will get everything in. I can tell you exactly what the credits will be like tomorrow, there will be 3 buildup pictures, whilst the credits will scroll over a shot of the pier. The closing credits were also very short. I too was surprised that the opening titles didn’t have the names on them, glad they will have the proper titles from tomorrow.
